We install pools year-round! However, frozen ground can impede our digging process. We recommend you begin the project based on your personal preferences and desired completion date.

Yes. With your compliance, our salesmen will help you compile all the necessary documentation, and our professional expediters will handle all of the steps to file for and acquire the necessary building permits.

Upon completing your pool, we will schedule an expert technician to come to your house and provide a free 30-minute demonstration on how to work your equipment and care for your pool. We also recommend reading and saving all instruction manuals provided by our manufacturers — and our full-time staff is trained and available year-round to answer any questions that arise.

No, Swim King does not offer pool maintenance or regular pool service.

This amount differs with each filter. Filters specify the amount of DE necessary either in the owner's manual or on a sticker affixed to the equipment.

DE filters: we recommend backwashing any time the filter's pressure gauge reading exceeds 30 PSI, and having the grids manually cleaned at least once a season. Cartridge filters: when the pressure gauge exceeds 30 PSI, have a professional or other experienced individual take the filter apart and manually clean the cartridges with a hose or a chemical filter-cleaner.

Surprisingly, it can be normal to lose up to an inch of water per day to splash-out, wind and evaporation. First perform a bucket leak test to confirm a leak and troubleshoot its origin, then contact Swim King or a pool service professional to discuss next steps. Note: Swim King does not repair leaks outside of warranty.

We recommend running your pump for at least 12 hours each day. The longer you run the pump, the more the water is filtered and the clearer it will be. Variable-speed pumps are a popular option for conserving energy while maintaining optimal circulation.

All of our warranties are based upon the manufacturer's warranty, so terms differ by product. In all cases we stand by our workmanship and guarantee expert installation — and in outstanding circumstances we will work with manufacturers and advocate for our customers to the best of our ability.

Properly balanced pool water prolongs the life and quality of your liner, plumbing and equipment. Water chemistry is also vital to keep water clear and to provide a safe, comfortable swimming environment.

We recommend having your water tested professionally once a week during the swimming season. We offer free computerized water testing at our retail store in Rocky Point.

Approximately once a week during swimming season. You may also want to shock after a pet or a large number of bathers have been in the pool.

Proper water chemistry, a clean filter and adequate circulation (hours with the pump running) are all necessities for a clean, clear pool. If you still battle algae despite all of the above, shock the water and add a preventative dose of algaecide each week.

Saltwater pools use a chlorine generator: a power supply wired at the equipment site and a salt cell plumbed inline with the return pipe. Salt is added directly to the pool, and as saltwater passes through the cell, electrolysis creates hypochlorous acid — which sanitizes the pool in place of traditional chlorine tablets.

Chlorine produced by a salt system is less harsh than traditional chlorine: less "bleach" scent, gentler on eyes, skin, hair and swimsuits, and softer-feeling water. You also skip buying, handling and storing buckets of chlorine — and over time a salt system saves money.

Yes — saltwater pools must still be adjusted for pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, CYA and other balancers, and we recommend a periodic oxidizing shock. A salt system only replaces the sanitizing component of pool water maintenance.

Keep the cell clean and scale-free with a specially designed cleaner, such as BioGuard's Cell Cleaner, from a trusted pool store — following the directions on the bottle carefully.

Yes — saltwater pools still require an oxidizing shock roughly once a week during swim season, either manually or through an option on your chlorine generator (a "super-chlor" or "boost" mode).
